I sure hope this does not go off wrong, but after over 50 years of living with this particulate animal, I would have dispatched it and buried it in a hole, I do not like lions, don't think I can ever like lions....Just not my cup of tea.

I've never been shot or had Lions follow me around the world but those guys risked their lives to provide an admirable act for a wild animal. Go cat go.

Yes, they did, I would not have, but to each his own. I admire them for their courage. Lions, just happen to be, one animal, I will not seek out, but I will never hesitate to shoot, and remember my opinion is just as valid as any other.

There is only one animal I fear in my life and that is a lion.

Now that is probably as far as I should go.

Agreed. There are mountain lions where I mountain bike ride. They want little to do with humans. In my opinion, I way more worried about other humans than mountain lions.

Kinda' thought the same thing ... there might be a good reason they didn't use one, but I can't come up with it.

My thought was they might not have used tranquilizer darts because of the steep terrain. The lion may have slipped and rolled down the hill and became severely injured.
Nice quality vid!

Agreed. I think humans are to animals to be most feared

Well you have to understand where I live, on average the colt and calf loss to cougar predation is pretty high and the cougar population is not endangered. We have a high population of wolves as well as bears both black and grizzly. Living in this country, you find out pretty quick, we are not at the top of the food chain.

Pretty low risk to get killed by a mountain lion
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._North_America

A lot more hunters get accidentally killed by other hunters than people that killed by mountain lions.

I am not worried about getting killed by a Cougar, I normally have my pistol as well as bear spray with me. Our Fish and Wildlife dept does most of the killing of them around here, but most of us also have depredation permits that are issued to us by Wildlife dept in case of them not being able to respond to a depredation issue. Around here Llama's are also quite often the victim of lion attacks, lots of people use Llama's to help with depredation by wolves on their livestock.

If you read through the link you provided, often times it is young children that are killed by lion's.

Young children are also the ones that normally get mauled and killed by dogs but you don't see people going around shooting dogs.

They do here in Montana, lots of dogs get shot every year that have mauled children, most of the time it is not even really a news story, it appears in the police blotter, Bruce, I live in an entirely different world than you do.

Here in Montana, the act of a dog chasing wildlife can and often times gets the dog shot, dogs are not quarantined here when they maul, or attack, they are shot, 90% of the state is rural.

Now, I do understand, you may not like that, but it is simply the way it is here and in a few other states as well. Outside of the few towns, most people live away from towns, when a situation happens, it is taken care of and life goes on.
