All because I wanted it to go faster. My engine obviously feels unappreciated. Since my last post She's coughing and spluttering. I went out last weeken with a couple of friends and she started off a little quirky but eased into a constant full throttel. We stopped over a rock to fish for about an hour then all whent wrong. The engine seemed to be suffercating, pushing out a top speed of 5.5 knotts. I stopped the boat put her into neutral and reved the spluttering away. It'seemed to work but is still up and down. When she drops to idal she cuts out. Bad fuel? Dirty Carb? HT lead? She's a 25 Mariner and my little girl, Please help.

she's obviously pining to be a 30.Start by checking fuelpump diaphrams and the fuel lines for air leaks.also check that none of the igntion leaks, high or low tension, are getting wet.
