3.0 mercruiser 1986 after hit WOT for few minutes the engine idle rough and dies, I looked under the Ignitor cap, the springs looks little rusty.
What is cleaning procedure on that? Replace?

Thanks

I woud first get a timing light and run the engine at various RPMs and check the advance vs RPM to what that manual specifies.

Yes not only the springs but the cams that advance the timing.

Open the dist. and turn the rotor back and forth. It should move about 20 degrees and spring back. If not...

Pull the points and then the breaker plate. Clean and lube the cams and springs.
reinstall the plate and reinstall and adjust the points.

I took it apart the spring and the moving parts are rust, when I move the rotor they will move, but one moves more them the other.
