Re: Could this be used in place of durbak?
I see no reason this would not work UNLESS it has no UV protection. I would call the MFG to see if it does. I found this review of the product online.

"When my aging sailboat needed painting, I prepped the surface and purchased a very expensive well known marine paint. It looked great for a few months and failed under the every day use in a salt environment.
At home depot for another project, I saw the Glidden Porch & Floor Polyurethane and noticed it was recommended for boat decks. The price per gallon was much less than the marine paint price per quart so I tried it.
that was last year. It look great and is now nearing a touch up. I plan to use the same paint. Inexpensive, very easy to use, and much better looking than marine deck paint."
I used Rustoleum's Professional Oil based and sprinkled sand on it when it was wet and then rolled another coat over it after it had dried and it looks great. I will have to see how durable it is after it goes through the summer next year.
I'm just sayin...
