Re: counter rotating engine
Bonitoman,<br /> Doing some research for myself on props, I've learned that the reason the drivers seat is positioned on the starboard side of the boat is to counter-act the "rolling" effect that the prop on a standard-rotation motor has on a boat. The clockwise rotation of a prop wants to make the boat lean or roll left, thus putting the driver on the starboard side evens out the weight/roll characteristics you have. As I see it, if you use a counter-rotating motor on your boat as only source of power, with the driver being on same side as the force of the prop wants to roll the boat, you will get a lot of leaning of the boat when driving straight... in which would probably need to counteract that effect with trim tabs or something. I know what i'm trying to say, but does this make sense when you read it?
