I am looking a boat that has twin Mercury 150s. Both have standard rotation. I am not sure why it is not set up as counter rotation. How hard is it to change the port engine to a counter rotation and what would the price range be? Thank you.

A lot of twin motors do not have counter rotation.

Go the the SEI website and price a counter rotating gearcase for one of those motors. Now price a new left handed prop that matches what is already on one of the motors.

You simply swap out the gearcase and install the new prop. You need to research whether you need to / and can convert your shift control to counter rotation as well.

I would drive the boat and see how much she walks to starboard before making any changes. That is the disadvantage of non-counter rotating motors.

Being an OB then SEI would not be part of the equation

Not an OB guy, but the ones which would have the answers would probably need to know the motor serial number
