Coupler to driveplate alignment

Might be self-explanatory, but does the engine coupler self-align to the drive plate (flywheel/flexplate) when bolting it back on? It's a 1977 Mercruiser 888 Ford 302.

Ayuh,.... Not Really.... Sorta,.. Kinda like...

On those motors, I believe you'll find the coupler mounts to the same studs as the flywheel goes onto...
And,.. That's directly onto the Crankshaft...
