Coupler

When I got my boat it did not have a coupler, motor was out the boat and I did not know anything about omc... So all the omc couplers I found did not fit cuz the holes did not match with the flywheel, so my bro in law had another good used mercruiser coupler that fits.... So my ? Is is it ok to use the merc coupler or do I really need a omc coupler???? 89 chevy 5.7

Ayuh,.... As far as I know, the OMC coupler is Longer,....

I'm guessin', that'll leave to little of the splines engage to support the torque,...

So what vintage is the Cobra and what vintage is the engine(2 piece or 1 piece rear seal)?

I checked the after market listings for OMC and Mercruiser couplers and there are no part numbers in common. I'm sure that if they were interchangeable they wouldn't make two different ones.

no they are not the same


but I just bought one from ebay cuz I need to remove motor to check flywheel.....


just wondering is anyone having a hard time typing? cuz when I type it skips some letters like my keyboard is junk....

Typing is working OK for me at this time. Maybe re-boot and try again.

It only does it on iboats and PC but on my iphone it works good... Idk maybe it's just ie sucks
