A few years ago, the Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest

Service were presenting an alternative to Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It

seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true methods of shooting and/or trapping

the predator, the tree-huggers had a "more humane" solution. What they proposed was for the

animals to be captured alive, the males castrated and let loose again and the population would be

controlled. This was ACTUALLY proposed to the Wyoming Wool and Sheep Grower's

Association by the Sierra Club and the USFS . All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea

for a couple of minutes. Finally, an old boy in the back stood up, tipped his hat back and

said, "Son, I don't think you understand the problem.

Those coyotes ain't breeding our sheep - they're eatin' 'em"!

Excellent! And it seems all the dogs I've had spayed or nuetered, had an increased appetite.
:D

More humane? All you human males out there: would you rather be shot or nuetered?

I would seem to me that if you nueter an animal you not only increase their hunger level but their anger level increases somewhat!!!

Re: Cowboy Logic

Confession time: I have a 65 lb. "yaller dog" hound mix, Dusty, who's the greatest dog I ever had. It's just me and him in a house full of girls (wife + 2 daughters + a various number of their friends). I grew up with 3 sisters & no brothers. The wife mentions the snip-snip ever once in a while (for Dusty, not me) but I just can't bring myself to go along.

I here ya jtexas. I have only done it to one dog. He came from the animal shelter where it was required so I had to. I am starting to get into the horse business on the low level myself. I told my wife that I will not cut a horse, way to many geldings out their that would have made excellant studs. You buy him, you cut him.
