Two days ago I posted my search for a used cowling for this engine. The original died violently from a blow to its top by an airborne casting platform as my friendly mechanic was towing the boat back to the dealership after trying it out on the water. I've since contacted the folks at Bombadier, who at least told me that a cover from any 90 or 115 Johnson will fit if the motor was manufactured from 2002 to 2006. So if anyone reading this has a cowling for a motor in that series and horsepower, please contact me. I also contacted my insurance agent, and it's likely the loss will be covered, minus my $250 deductible. I won't know for sure until an adjuster looks at it. I'll probably order a new cowling if the insurance pays; but the high price (nearly $900) sure seems like robbery without the use of a gun. Peace and great boating to all, Bluegrass boy.

I thought all the 60* V4 looper hoods would fit.

The one in the ebay ad will fit. I have a 2005 Johnson 90 and that cowling is identical except for the graphics of course...... Of course the one in the ebay ad is damaged.....but repairable.

The boating buddies out there who responded to my previous two posts will be happy to know my insurance is covering the cost for a new replacement cover and the dealer is paying my deductible. Be assured I'm now tying down my homemade casting platform whenever my Whaler is in transit or on the water moving at planing speed. I won't be surprised if my insurance premiums go up some for awhile, but a little pain in the wallet can be a wonderful teacher. Good boating to all, Bluegrass boy.
