1992 Mariner 150hp ser#Od124111

I sometimes have standing water in my cowling after some rough seas. I believe there are two drain holes in the rear of the cowling that act like check valves. I cant get the water to drain out of them or even push a tiny wire through there. Is there a way to get them out without removing the cowling? Any help is appreciated.

Re: cowling drainage

I have a 115 and the drain valves are just pushed in from the inside by hand pressure. You should be able to take a bolt or wooden dowel of the same diameter as drain and push out from bottom side of cowl. Most likely has gotten stopped up with trash. Good luck
Bob
