cracked block? 888 / 302

Ok i have been on here a few times and have gotten various inputs....but i have discovered some interesting things concerning our 888 / 302 that loses power.

We replaced the distributor ...thinking it wasnt advancing. All the ignition parts have been replaced. Fuel filter was replaced and the carb float was adjusted.

It runs beautifully for about 45 minutes then dies. Refuses to idle then..dies under load. Conditions:

Clean gas. And clean oil. No milky appearance.
No water dripping after the engine heats up
no steam in the exhaust
The carb seals are kinda shot...im gonna get a rebuild kit anyway
After cooling it runs great.
no odd noises
help! Thoughts?

well im answering my own post for this one. Did another oil check and sure enough..milk. @#$##@$#@$ so the rest of the conditions are the same..not leaking water.. im gonna lift the heads and see whats up. hope its nothing more than the gasket blown. I don't have any money to sink in this monster. Whatever wasn't happening before last trip out let go this time. im off to NAPA tomorrow. good night.

Ayuh,... Changing headgaskets rarely fixes a cracked block...

well oddly enough it runs really really well WOT and cold. would a change in temperature change after an hour with the power loss I am seeing reflect just the gasket? (before I get too far into looking at it)

When it dies, do you lose spark? Was the coil one of the new ign parts? Make sure the fuel vent is clear. Didn't see the milk...sorry to hear that...
