I have a bayliner spider with a 4.3 and even though i thought i drained it before winter i must not have gotten the bottom of the motor drained. I had both freeze pugs in the bottom of the boat and after reinstalling them i had milky oil boiling out my pcv valves. So needless to say i have to replace the motor but i have no clue what to take apart to get the dumb thing out. Are the plans out there on the net? or is there a manual i can buy?
thanks

Re: cracked engine block

You'll have to remove any panels that are in the way.

Then just unhook all the wiring (and mark it).

Remove the outdrive.

Remove the exhaust risers.

Attach a chain to the engine, and hook up a hoist (a forklift works nicely, but if you don't have one, you may need to build a gantry, or use a tree branch with a chain hoist).

Remove engine mount bolts. (2 bolts on the transom plate, and 1 nut each side of the engine toward the front).

Then just lift it up and out.

It's precisely 37.9 times easier than removing a car engine.
