ok im new to boating, bought a boat strictly based on hearing engine run. yes I know dumb idea. now Im paying for it. after all of the other problems I have found water in the oil. I noticed water leaking from one of the freeze plugs which looks like someone tried to patch that plug, not sure why. anyway one tech I talked to said blown head gasket. so I tore the engine down to the head and removed it. gasket by no means was in good shape but I couldn't find anything that I could say would make it bad. new gasket on order so I searched the head for any cracks. I found what looks like it could be a hairline crack almost looks like a scratch on the head. if you look directly to the left of the top of the bottom hole in pic you can see what appears to be a small crack. im wanting to know if you guys think this is a cracked head. any info would be great thanks

Re: cracked head?

Could very well be a small defect but as it radiates towards the outside rather than to the combustion chamber I would not be concerned. Only real way to test is to take it to a specialist in non destructive testing where they will magnaflux it.

Ayuh,... My guess is, it's been frozen with water in it,...

Yes, that's a crack in the 1st picture,...
I'd suspect there's More cracks in the block,...

Should i worry about having it repaired before putting it back together?

Yup,have it fluxed as stated above. It's a crack as bondo says. Maybe they will find more than the one.....I'd be concerned that there are more someplace.
