Hello Folks...
I have a 1988 Mercury 70HP ELPTO Outboard and proceeded to start it and the oil warning audible came on. Check my oil line from the tank to the pump and it was good, but the one from the pump to the fuel delivery pump was split and leaking. I replaced the hose with standard 3/16" clear plastic tubing and zipped tied it back up. Do I need to bleed the pump from any air that may have gotten in when I replaced the hose?. Or, should I just fire it up and let the oil run back into the line and mix with the fuel?. I turned it over a couple of times and the oil is not being pushed up into the fuel pump system. Could be cause there's no throttle being applied which opens up the pump. I was going to mix up a can of 50:1 fuel/oil mixture and run it while I get the pump line back full of oil. What are your thoughts on the solution to this problem.
Thanks in advance,
HQS
