Yes, ...<br /><br />External cracks (from freezing, let's say) can be welded just fine by someone who is competent at welding cast iron. <br /><br />Internal cracks are _very difficult_ to weld, and the consequences of failure can be much greater if you don't test your weld first.<br /><br />An end crack can be welded also, but the failure rate is slightly higher.<br /><br />Lots of folks just to grind a bit and use JB-Weld or similar product.
