Has anyone ever tried to replace a cracked outer display on a humminbird? Humminbird will do it for $250 on my Matrix 97, should never crack for $250. I took it apart, just looks like plexiglass. Any tips, suggestions.

I got it apart and replaced the screen. Cost 3.69 for the adhesive. If I I had to buy the plastic it would have been around 20 bucks total. Not too hard to do. Works perfect.

Couldn't have been. This unit has holes for the gimble brackets in the back for some odd reason. Had it out in the rain and didn't seem to cause a problem.

I also have a cracked screen on wide model. Looks like an easy replacement not $250 lol. Its just a look thing i dont like still works the same. What is a good replacement glass or plastic? You couldnt pay me to mount eagle on my boat.

I used a brand called Optix. It doesn't have the exact same non-glare coating but it works. You just want something that has non-glare on the outside. The place just gave me a scap piece.
