99 Regal 1800. Boat is in great shape, floors rock solid (as far as I can tell). Removed the snap carpet in the ski locker and found this. Is this as bad as it looks or is this a semi normal repair? Im guessing grinding the gel coat and glass smooth and re-fiber glassing before new gel coat?
Dont want to put a bandaid over something serious but also hoping this isnt a tear up the flooring situation.
Thanks guys

Well, the floor didn't crack for no reason. The worst scenario is that the keel under the ski locker floor is damaged.

The best case is that the floor moved it's "normal" amount and the glass just cracked.

You can grind it down and install more cloth and poly resin and see how it goes. I would also recommend you inspect the plywood under the glass for rot. If rotten, see "worst scenario".

looks like resin and gel over plywood.

no glass over most of the bottom of your ski locker

you may get lucky and have issues limited only to the floor of your ski locker

or....... you may have found the tip of an iceberg.

I would start by making some test drills

It's hard to tell from photos, but it almost looks to me like the cracked stuff that runs down the center of the locker is some sort of resin that was poured in to flatten out the floor. If they used straight resin (without any fiber strands), that pooled in the bottom, it could be pretty brittle and crack like you see in the pics. I'd be inclined to get a grinder and LIGHTLY grind at some of that cracked stuff. If you're lucky, somebody just poured resin in there to level the floor and it's just not aging well.
