cracked vinyl on seats

Does anybody know of a way to repair cracked vinyl on seats without replacing the vinyl entirely? - Thanks

I got a vinyl repair kit for a tear in one of my vinyl seats. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the result. You spread this liquid vinyl "goo", then put a pattern mold that simulates the fake leather texture, and apply heat to cure. Follow the directions carefully, and go thin when you apply the liquid vinyl! I applied it too thick at first and it took forever to heat-cure. Ended up blasting it directly with a heat gun until the seat started smoking a little.

I don't know if that stuff will work for me... the seats are split all across the top of the backrest. I could try it but might just have to resort to the duct tape lol!

If the vinyl it cracked from the sun forget it. It is too far gone.

i had a seat that split close to the trim - had an upholsterer take the trim off and tuck the vinyl into the seam and put the trim back on. worth a try. cost me $20

also love to use tear-aid for vinyl

Mine (1988) were split across the top 3/4" wide at places.
no hope, I just smeared in some quality Latex/poly caulk to seal the foam from water; held good for 2 years now. Ain't pretty, but new vinyl is a pain.
Rebuilding the powertrain and wiring came first. Cosmetics come later.
