So, I'm back. Now that my steering wheel is replaced, I would like to figure out a way for a "non body repair" man to try and fix the paint. On both sides of my boat there are cracks, I wouldn't call them scratches, they are definately cracks. The glass seems fine, it's still solid and doesn't move at all. It just seems that they are stress cracks all the way through the paint and clear. Do i have to get a wet sander and restore the whole body? Or is there some trick that you all are savvy to that will help me fix the asthetics without having to learn professional body work.

Re: cracks in the paint

Sorry, but if there are lots of stress cracks in the gel coat there's no easy fix. Lots of grinding, filling, fairing, spraying, sanding and buffing is the only way to get rid of them.

Crap! That means redoing the whole paint job then. Scale of 1-10, how difficult is that? 1 being a moron that can't figure out a steering wheel and 10 being piece of cake. :/

Thanks again for the help guys!
