Cranking Amps

I just bought a 1996 9.9 Yamaha 4-stroke Model #T9.9ELHU. I'm wondering if there is a limit to the cranking amps that it will take. I'm looking at a 1000 amp battery. Only plan on using it for starting the motor. No much else on the boat for electronics.

210 CCA minimum. after that the sky is the limit. but why carry all the extra weight when a water craft or lawn and garden battery will suffice.
