Crankshaft Problem

I just did a rebuild on a 1994 120 hp force. Ran just fine then had a connecting rod bolt come loose and scar up the #1 journal. Got it looked at and found out its pretty well shot. From what i am hearing it would be cheaper and better all along to just go get a replacement crankshaft. So i have been looking around and have found a few used for pretty good prices. But they state that they were used on a 105hp chrysler SN#-6115 model#-1057hf. I want to know if it is compatible or if im just wasting my time. All input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Crankshaft Problem

Double check the splines on the drive shaft and crankshaft nose. Around this time Mercury started changing them. IF your engine has a Mercury lower unit, then the Chrysler/early Force crankshafts will physically fit into the crankcase, but the splines will not accept the drive shaft.

Re: Crankshaft Problem

Well I checked the splines on the crank i have now and its a 13 spline. But the one i was looking at was on ebay and it doesn't say anything other than the year model and serial. It says its for a 105 and 135 chrysler and a 120 force but it doesn't say what year it was. if there is any way you could find out it would be appreciated.
