Hey guys I have a 1980 wellcraft 170 bowrider, 470 mercruiser. I have the old style control lever, and like all of them mine doesnt like to go into nuetral. Is there any way to replace it with a newer style that has the nuetral trigger instead of the push button?

You can upgrade it but it might require rewiring your trim tilt. Is your trim tilt on your shifter or dash?

Are you sure your problem is the control, or is it a cable problem? The control itself is seldom the problem.

Don I should have been more discriptive. It goes to neutral with no problem. Its the fast idle button for revving in neutral that is the problem. I have the one with the button in the middle of the shifter pivot point. From what I have researched these are notoriously bad for this. And my trim control is on the lever stars> I assume that will be easier right?
