I know I have jumped around between Lund(used to own),Sea Nymph(currently own),and even looked at Crestliner a few times. This time
on my next utility-v bottom fishing boat,...guess what,...I am seriously
considering a Crestliner XCR 1467 over a Lund A-14(both 2010 models).
Why? Price! I can get a 2010 Crestliner XCR1467 uitility-v bottom boat,
15 HP Tohatsu four stroke outboard, and Yacht Club trailer for the price
of $4,387.00. The 2010 Lund A-14 with a 15 HP Mercury four stroke out
board and trailer for $5,855.00(approx. after sales tax). By going with the
Crestliner,...I would be saving $1,468.00,...and still have a good quailty
basic no frills fishing boat that will not wreck the budget! Plus,I will be trading in the old Sea Nymph for the new rig. Right now the plan is to save for a little bit larger down payment. My Crestliner dealer has told me that all most banks
require down on a boat like this(and he said that banks will finance them)is
the sales tax. My best chance at getting a little rig like this financed would be
to go through my credit union at work. I have been at my job almost eight yeras now, have had two other loans(both paid off)through our credit union, and have a very small loan which will be paid off soon for work that HAD
to be done on my tow vehicle. I am going to present this proposal to the girl
who works at our "in-house" credit union at work to see if this can be done
down the road when I am ready to proceed.( Keep in mind that I just said
"when I am ready to proceed". What I mean by that is that I want to pay off the small loan for vehicle repairs FIRST,and by then I should have a sizeable
down payment saved for the boat. One thing at a time here as I do not want to get the "kart before the horse" too quickly.)
