Recently found this 15' boat and would like to know a little bit more about it. We purchased from an old boy here in Arkansas that couldn't remember where he got it! Great story teller though...Has some breaks in fiberglass as it had been sitting out in the weather for a "few" years.

Re: Crosby Sled

Going back a long way on the Crosby Sleds. Used to see one from time to time on the rivers. They were flat bottomed and bounced too much for our saltwater. They were considered to be good boats for their purpose. Well built. I saw a plan in Boatbuilder magazine a while back based on the Crosby Sled.

Re: Crosby Sled

If anyone runs up on one or wants to get rid of theirs...let me know..Id love to get another one...Only problem I had was I let my cousin use it one summer and he got a hole in the hull...1968 foam was not closed cell so it soaked up what was about 1000 lbs of water...had to pull the deck off and replace all the foam and patch the hole...solid now though. IF any owners have the plate still on the transom I would LOVE to know what it says...weight limits, engine limits, etc..mine is GONE

On both sides towards the rear I slipped a hand saw in between to seperate the two layers as best I could. Did the same thing across the back too.

If I was smart I would have hoisted it up from the front and it would popped loose. I was not so smart...

I cut my cap off about two feet from the rear and put a car jack in there to pop it out.

Save yourself some work and don't do it like I did.

See my sig for some pics and feel free to pm me with questions about this boat. I tend to not check this forum too often when I'm not working on the boat.
