Hey all,
I am looking at buying a used bowrider for more of a "speedboat" so that I can use my pontoon as what it should be used for and putt-putt around and relax in it.
I am looking at 2000-up Glastrons, Bayliner Capri's, Sea-Rays, and Larsons. A friend of mine told me he has a 1998 Crownline 21' 210-CCR that he would sell me, even though its not "for sale." He recently put a brand new 5.7L in it (only about 35hrs on it), and when he did he took apart the lower end and checked all the seals, etc. I turned the key and it started right up...sounds amazing. He has also recently bought a new RoadRunner trailer with removable tounge that would be included. The fiberglass is all perfect with no dings or gashes...the paint could use a good buff job which, but again no scratches or paint damage. I can get a nice buff job done for free, so I'm not worried about that at all.
The only place that I would need to invest some $$ is the upholstery, which I would probably just take it to the local upholstery shop and have him redo it all. Accompanied with a buff, this boat should be super nice and run like a racehorse. This guy told me this huge boat would hit almost 65mph with the 5.7L chevy 350 he installed.
My question to y'all (Texan word LOL) is would this boat be worth $6500 as it sits? I would probably have to Bust Out Another Thousand (B.O.A.T.) on the upholstery, but NADA tells me that with an original motor this boat should be worth $7500-8500. I assume with a new motor and new upholstery and upgraded trailer it would be considerably higher.
Any help is appreciated! -Blake
