cruise-a-day tank installation

i have a 1952 Evinrude 7.5 hp mod #4447 and would like to know if i can convert to cruise-a-day tank. if so what would it take, thanks for any help

There are a couple of ways to do it. Try searching Leroy's Ramblings or YouTube for detailed instructions..

You would have to install a fuel pump and rig up a pulse line to drive it. Easiest way would be to tap into one of the bypass covers on the side of the powerhead. Make sure you have enough room first.

F_R is correct above. A pulse fuel pump like what's on most older Johnson and Evinrudes would be the best type set up. And If I am not mistaken, some of those pumps have a tube that supplies the pulse from the engine and not just bolted up to an opening port. And since those pumps are small in size, you maybe could even manufacture a bracket to fit it to the engine under the cowling. Do a search for such pumps and see. JMHO

This should give you the general idea what you are striving for. This is a Briggs & Stratton pump on a Gale motor. Yeah, I'm aware that on this motor a regular OMC pump would have bolted up directly.
