I'm considering a purchase of a 2001 Cruisers Yachts 2870 and would like any feedback that any of you may have on Cruisers Yachts in general, and specifics, if you have any.

The boat has dual 5.0L Volvo engines - not sure what outdrives. Seems to be in really nice shape according to the pictures. It's being sold by a marina, not a personal sale. It includes an aluminum tri-axle trailer and seems to be well priced at 38K.

What say you?

X2.... Get a good survey , have the hull checked for water intrusion and get a full work up from oil samples .

As far as the boat , I might be somewhat biased ,but I own one for a reason . I think Cruisers are one of the better Express Cruisers on the market and have been around (2nd owner ) since the 50's .As far as layout , fit & finish and rigging go take a good look in the motor compartment how every wire is labeled and supported , this level of detail is on every system though out the boat . I'll give them two thumbs up

Good Luck

Back in the 1980's I had a Cruisers Yacht. I never had any problems with it whatsoever. It was a great boat, built well and built to last. With that said, I totally agree with Bob. Make sure to get a complete survey of the boat. After all, it's a 10 year old boat so who knows what it's been through during the last 10 years. Good Luck and I hope it works out for you.
