You have to admire determination.

I wonder if they could sell the idea to the Marines or the Army a duece and 1/2 phib.

I laughed so hard when I saw this. You'd think they would create something a little less conspicuous.

Re: Cuba's Idea of a Pantoon Boat

Thats darn good work on that one... I've seen some of the "boats" that they tried to float over in...

One cuban dude made the crossing from cuba to one of the lower Fl. Keys on a windsurfer a few years back... Very stylish... :D

Just wish some of em' would decide to float back home to cuba, espcially the jackass that lives cross the street from me.... Oh well...

That's one of the better lookin rafts I've seen in a long time. When they return them do they confiscate the "boat"? if so Ill open the bid at $150 wait make that $180 I missed the tarp with that first bid. Do we have $200 anybody?

Sorry nuemans,

After all that inginuity to get out of Cuba, to escape an oppressive regime, the Coast Gaurd sank it, and the U.S Government sent them back so that they can be shot!

Something ain't right about that!

Kenny

Kenny, don't believe everything you hear... They won't be shot.. They'll just build another boat and try again some other time.. Was Elian Gonzales shot? NO... He's the cuban "poster child" now...

Castro wants to send as many cubans here as he can (usually to get rid of the un-desirables, the troublemakers), here's why... The cubans who make it the the US get jobs and send US $dollars$ back home to their relatives which just helps stimulate the cuban economy... I believe that sending US dollars to cuba is a crime, yes, no, I'm not sure? Anyway, on the streets of cuba the US dollar is as good as or better than the peso and Castro wants to get his hands on as much US currency as he can to line his own pockets and fund his cuban army.....

That's what's not right...

Hey snapper,

I hate to say this, but you are probably correct about that jerk Castro.

Castro couldn't shoot Elian because the world would have reacted if he had.

Unfortunatly we can't launch an attack on him.

Kenny

A Cuban limerick

There once sailed a boat load of Cubans
In a truck that was captained by Ruben
With the tranny in park
They did float day and dark
Well at least it was better than tubin'
But alas they were met
A reconnaissance jet
blew the whistle
And sent out a cutter
Which packed them all up
From their pickum up truck
And in route fed them all bread and butter.

Re: Cuba's Idea of a Pantoon Boat

damnned clever of them, its a shame they got caught

dont have a problem with SMART immigrants, they would LIKELY work hard and make acontribution to society in some way

7 drums on each side, lets see, at 60% thats 400 gallons of water displaced, looks like boxes front and rear, , perhaps 400 more gallons, 800 x 8 =5600 lbs displaced ... prolly another 6 drums underneath, 300 gallons displaced 2400 lbs displaced, Im very impressed, I wonder if they used the driveshaft to drive a prop or used a dual rear axle (both driven) took one axle out and used thte tag shaft to drive it?

Hey, they almost made it, hats off to em!
