I'm preparing to remove the cap to repair floor and transom. While cutting the lower section of the transom cut out I noticed about a 1" layer of filler. This was not present while cutting the side. My question is should I be cutting below this fill at the wood and not the lamination line? Also, I will be redoing the transom with nida-bond, should I just form it up to replace the 1" filler gap? Do the pourable transom need to fiberglassed over the top? And, when I replace the cap what should I use to bond this area back? May be that peanut butter mixture? Sorry for all the question, newb just wanting to make sure I do it right the first time. Thanks

Re: ? Cutting Cap At Transom

Went out and bought a fine tooth blade from HD(can't remember how many teeth). I think it would be best to make 2 cuts, one at the bottom of the lamination and the other were the filler and wood meet. I will then try to chisel out all of that fill material and proceed with my final cut and remove the cap. Please comment on nay converns you see with this approach. Thanks
