I am looking to make more storage room by cutting holes under where the cushions are in the Cuddy cabin. Is this advisable?? It appears to me that there is a lot of wasted space under these things.

Thanks in advance.
K. Miller

There was a similar post not too long ago -- might have involved a Bayliner.

Anyway, you might be able to open some space going in either sideways or vertically -- depends on what configuration you are after. Make sure you know where the hull skin is -- can get a pretty good idea about how much space just by eyeballing it (may not be worth it). There may be flotation foam, and you would end up cutting out a block for your storage compartment.

Also keep in mind, that if such space was designed for bouyancy and you open it, you not only remove bouyancy - you fill it up with weight.

So would you all recommend this or stay away from it? If there is foam in there I definitely do not plan on removing it.

Thanks

A newbie... HA HA

sounds like you might be happier using portable storage boxes, or something similar.
