Cutting out bow section and replacing with custom?

While redoing this floor, I've though about cutting out the bow section, and remaking it out of wood a bit nicer than it came. Any ideas on the best place to cut this? Or has anyone had any experience doing this?<br /><br />I don't want to take the deck off the boat really. And the front needs new upholstery anyways, but the only access I can see, is to take the deck off, or cut out the bow section.<br /><br />I was thinking of cutting it a few inches below the top, then glassing in side supports at the helm area on both sides. Then do a drop in custom wood/glass front section, with better seating(more cushion area) than it has now.<br /><br />Thoughts?<br /><br />I have to finish clearing out the front end and take another pic, but here is one to start with.<br /><br />

was that a casting deck you removed? hard to tell what I'm lookin at
