earlier this week i posted a question on why my 89 force 150hp was getting 35mph at 3500rpms I was suggested to check my prop pitch well I first check the engine to see how good of condition it was in I found #2 coil was'nt firing my question is would that damage my cylinder i've only used it 3 times since I've owned it. what should I be looking for. I have'nt checked compression, I've ordered a new coil.

Re: cylinder damage?

Checking compression should settle your nerves. Even though it isn't firing on that cylinder it should still be getting oil/gas mix so the cylinder shouldn't be running dry. But getting it fixed as soon as possible is best. Good luck!
