evinrude, 1991 15hp. 2 cylinders model E15REIA.
I am planning on removing the head and have two questions,
1) what would the torque spec be for the head bolts?
2) when removing the head do i have to loosen the bolts in any special order like i do when installing the head?

specs should be in your manual. why are you pulling the heads?

i don't have the manual, i am removing the head because we heard they are prone to go bad. I just got the engine and don't think it was ever done so i figured i would just go ahead and do it real quick.

don't go taking stuff apart because you heard something. what is your compression. people go messing with stuff without a manual, or proper troubleshooting, end up with a mess it takes hours, to figure out what has been messed up, and wrongly adjusted. it's your money to throw away. if you want to do the work your self get a Evirude OEM service manual for your specific motor.

Thumbtack,

Criticism is sometimes hard to take but please listen to Tashasdaddy. You will be glad you did. You can't fix what ain't broke- please just provide the history behind the engine and what is prompting you to tear it apart.
