cylinder power cuts out

[slow motor boater]

I own a 1994 Mariner 20 hp outboard. One of the cylinders cuts in and out at random. It will run for a while on both cylinders and then back to one and then back to two after a few minutes. I doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm it does in either case. Does anyone know what would be a typical problem? Coil, condenser, some electronic control device...etc. Please let me know.

Check for a loose ground on one of the coils.<br /><br />That is a good place to start.<br /><br />TMD

try cleaning/rebuilding the carby
