I had my engine (1988 70 HP Johnson VRO) looked at this week.

Had carbs rebuilt, etc. Mechanic told me the pressure on my cylinders is as follows:
112 psi.
110 psi.
90 psi.

I haven't talked to him in detail about it yet, but I wanted to get some info before I do. He mentioned this is why I have been having some idling problems.

What are the other things that I should be concerned about?

Is this the type of thing that necessitates a rebuild?

How long can the engine go as is assuming everything else is ok?

Thanks.
J

Re: Cylinders Unequal Pressure.

That's a bit out of spec, J, but not necessarily critical.

Do a thorough decarb, then check it again.

Good luck. :)
