I've got some marks on the exterior of my windshield that baffle me. I thought at first that they were a deposit from one of the squeegies at a local gas station, but then there were more a week later, but I hadn't been back to that same station in that time.
Now I'm thinking that they resulted from my ice scraper, which has a plastic blade, and which I've been using for several years. There's no way that anything other than plastic could contact the glass when I use it, but these marks look as though the glass is etched, as though metal or a chemical contacted it.
Tried various glass cleaners, 91% alcohol, Gumout choke cleaner, and a baking soda solution, and scraping with a razor blade, all to no avail. I mean NOTHING EVEN TOUCHES these marks.
Can the glass be polished in some way to remove them? Other suggestions?
By the way, I tried to upload a couple of snapshots of the glass, but no dice. The same procedures that used to let me upload photos now don't work. I tried Photobucket and that's even worse. Won't let me copy - or even see - the entire link.
