Damn corrosion

Decided to test out all electrical components from both powerheads. Everything went fine until I tried to unscrew the plug wires from the coils...2 wires broke off from 2 coils and didnt even try the third. Fresh water will be my new best friend.

Sorry to hear your having problems.

Are they repairable or do you need new coils?

Don't know what motor your working on. Almost all Chrysler/Force coils,the wire isin't removable.
Some Mercury coils have removable leads.Not sure about OMC/Yam.J

Yes now I need new coils. It's an 86' 85hp Force with blue coils. I seen a few places that said the coil wires were unscrewable. If they werent supposed to be unscrewed....oops lol.
