Checked the breaker in the fusebox and it's getting power at the outlet but she won't budge on any setting. What can I check next? Other than the cost of a new dryer?

Time to get out the voltmeter. Test the door switch first followed by voltage to the motor.

Bruce is right. You may check out www.repairclinic.com . They are who I use. Lots of help diagnosing problems, lots of pics to help you pick the right parts, cheaper than the dealer/service centers.

Hmmm, when that happened to my drier, my wife wouldn't let me FIX IT! She had been wanting a new drier for years ... now she is bugging me about the washer, so I probaly won't be allowed to fix it when it next needs repaired either ...

I'd insert one of those laughing smilies here but I can't get those to work either.

Something tells me that the washer will break down, while you are in Ghana.

There's probably a thermal fuse on the exhaust side. Mine needed one of those last year. I greatly shortened the ducting when I got it back home. Straight through the wall now!!

It was indeed the thermal fuse. Unfortunately, the repairman beat you to it.:( Since I already had it apart he only charged $40. Beats $400 for a new dryer i guess.

They also might be more knowledgable. Thanks for that link KB, wished I had it before I needlessly spent $100 on a washer timer assembly when it was problably the two speed drive motor acting up. Grrrrrrrrrrr:mad:
