Dangerous condition

I have a 1985 Johnson 25 hp. Motor and raw fuel is pouring into the bottom cylinder. So much so that the cylinder fills up with fuel. Ideas anyone.

Is the fuel pump fed from the bottom cylinder? If so maybe the diaphragm may be ruptured.

I replaced the fuel pump yesterday thinking that was the problem. When I squeeze the primer bulb it seems to go straight through

With the fuel pump hoses connected but without the pump bolted to the block, squeeze the primer bulb. Does fuel spray out of the pump?

Guessing you have a stuck or heavy float. Or the float was installed upside down...on some of those carbs possible.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I might have had a ruptured diaphragm in the fuel pump.I replaced that still the same problem.I think you’re right about the float or needle and seat. On thing I didn’t mention is the vent hole was plugged on the gas tank and a lot of pressure built up..I will take the carb off next.
