im trying to get the right spark plugs for my chrysler 20 , the spares that came with the engine are 3/8inch , but the ones installed are 1/2 inch reach , the boat started up ok and ticked over ok but , im wandering what damage could be incurred if the plugs fitted are too long !!, on a site that advises on plugs (spark plugs .com ) it says , if the engine is pre 1967,its 3/8 ,if later 1/2 inch , i dont know the year of the engine , has anyone any ideas , i recieved some valuable info on my last post , many thanx , can anyone please advise

Can you post your model number? It should be on a plate somewhere around the carb. Do you know if this is a series 2000 motor?

Your motor is between 1970-1975. I cant find specifics for your motor. The manual calls out L4J plugs for all 20 HP except the series2000. YOu cant get champion L4J plugs anymore and they were crossed over to a L82C plug. NAPA sells them for 2 bucks a piece
