Dating a Mariner 60 from ser. no. and GPH?

Hello.
Wonder if anyone can help me here? I've just bough a boat with a 60hp Mariner/Mercury engine. The serial number is OC2474862. Can anyone tell me the age of the engine please? Also, what can I expect in terms of Galls. per hour at WOT?

I was always told that GPH at WOT will be approximately 10% of Hp. 60 Hp will burn 6 GPH. My boats have always been close to that. I think under FAQ section of the forums is a place to check Ser# for year of motor.
