I had a classic vst issue with a 2001 F115 TXRZ not able to go over 3500 rpm. I took the boat to a local Yamaha dealer and for them to clean VST replace screen / filter. I even brought them cleaned / flowed fuelinjectors to replace as well. They called and said my trim caps and ram were leaking. The ram is in good condition should only need seals along with the caps. They quoted $2300 for this.....
I was expecting about half this price. Does this sound about right for dealer pricing?

I also asked about how many hours were on the engine since I have only had the boat less than a year and they said they couldn't communicate with the ECU to see how many hours were on this engine.

Pull the PT&T unit and take to a hydraulic shop. Should be about $100

If dealer doesn't have the right tools to comunicate with ECU along quoting out of this world prices, avoid in the furure returning to that three shade incompetent usurer dealer. Most delares thinks that because we have boats we all are millionaires and are allowed to quote whatever amount they please..

Happy Boating
