Has anyone had any dealings with Champion. I am thinking of purchasing a reman carb from them and wanted to know what their track record is, any help.

Re: Dealing with Champion

We have all had dealings with Champion. I didn't know they made a reman "MARINE" carb. They're probably better at spark plugs than carbs...

Stick with what you know... I would choose someone with a "longer track record" with carbs

Re: Dealing with Champion

I may go with one of those to replace my Rochester 4 on my GM 350. I have a question though if anyone is still watching this thread. If I have a mechanical spring choke(I know, get in the way back machine)can I easily convert to a Rochester with an electric choke?

I would assume it is as easy as using a lead from the engine temp sensor on the manifold.

Re: Dealing with Champion

its nothing to do the the engine temp sensor.. electric chokes aint that clever.. it just needs power fed to the electric heater part of the choke and after a certain time the big coily springs heats up and off comes the choke..

it has no idea of how hot your engine really is.. in fact mine has no idea if the engine is even running.. he he

my merc one just gets battery voltage fed to it when the ignition is on.. according to a recent thread some volvo ones get power from the alternator and only get fed when the engine is actually running..

the electric bit only causes the choke to come off by the way.. it works against (heats up) the big coily spring which in a cold state puts the choke on..

trog100

Back to the original question. Has anyone had any dealings with this company, and if so how would you rate them. I know some rman places make the product look good on the outside (hell I can do that.) I just want to make sure my money is well spent.
