decarb nessesery ???

Hello,<br />i was reading other postings and i read a lot about decarb.<br />my 4.5 seahorse has been running on a 30:1 mixture with 2 stroke oil that is normaly used in lawnmowers.<br />The previous owner said it runned fine on that.<br /><br />since this afternoon i know the exact mixture of my engine and i use outboard oil for the mixture.<br /><br />how do i decarb ??? do i need to tear apart the engine or is there anothersolution for it<br /><br />p.s sorry for my poor english i live in the netherlands

Ferry,<br /><br />First off. 2-cycle oil for air cooled engines is not good for water cooled engines and visa versa.<br /><br />Second, use the "search" feature on this board using the word decarb. There is PLENTY to read.<br /><br />The decarb process basically just uses a decarb agent sprayed into the carburetor throat that is allowed to sit and soak and then flushed out by running the engine.

do you have a brandname of the decarb spray ?<br />so i can look for it in the netherlands

SeaFoam is the easiet to use (Aerosol Can)<br /><br />OMC Engine Tuner is another brand.
