Any body out there know the formula to convert decmal feet to inches ...like 5.3 feet is how many inched...thanks eh ....I'm brain dead today

Multiply by 12............5.3X12=63.6" (.6"=about 5/8 of an inch)

Take the .3 and multiply by 12.

If using excel the formula to get the feet would be =int(5.3) and to get the inches it would be =(5.3-int(5.3)) * 12

Dolluper, you must be having a really bad day to that brain dead. As Limited-time said, multiply the decimal feet by 12 (12 inches / foot)

5.3 ft x 12 in/ft = 63.6 in

multiply the number to the right of the decimal by 8 to get approx x/8th's of an inch or 16 to approx x/16th's of an inch

.6 x 8 = 4.8/8 or almost 5/8"
.6 x 16 = 9.6/16 or almost 10/16" = 5/8"

Now, take a shot of whiskey and get some sleep.

Yeh guys I did do the times 12 and got 63.6 inches it was the .6 that threw me off.....I had it as 3/5 of an inch instead of 1/8ths or 1/16 ths ....which I wanted to know....you have all cleared it up for me and my brain is back up to snuff so through your easier mechanical questions at me ...tanks again
