Deep, creased dent in starcraft hull... should I worry?

I'm sure the PO has hit something underwater. On the bottom of the hull, there's a deep finger sized dent. It's about an inch deep and creased, it looks like the boat hit a jagged rock at speed and it almost went through the hull. I can see stress marks on the aluminum on the inside of the hull where the metal was almost stretched to the point of ripping. Should I worry or try to get it welded? Cosmetically it's a non issue since it is on the very bottom of the boat. I am hoping if I fill the boat with water and it doesn't leak, I won't have to worry about it...

Under the deck?

If so...... you should carefully examine it and maybe beef that spot up a bit...... welding on a patch is not a bad idea.

The beauty of an aluminum hull is that they can take a hit like that and still be alive.

Pictures?
