I learned a long time ago with my car.. Play radio too long with engine off, engine wont start. Started out with a full size deep cycle marine/rv battery. Was no problem on my Tahiti bubble deck. Plenty of room under bow for battery. I even rigged a cig lighter to the battery and wired a plug to charge the battery without
taking it out of the boat. But now I have a bowrider with no room for a full size lead acid deep cycle battery. Then I researched smaller deep cycle batteries, and found a sealed AGM wheelchair battery that fits anywhere, can be used at any angle and once I figured out a trickle charger was not adequate to keep it charged.
I am once again rocking on the water without the risk of draining the starting battery. Eventually I will add a battery disconnect switch to charge the audio system
battery whilst underway.. Pictures to follow...
