Hi. I am inside a 1983 Evinrude 8 hp honing cylinders and replacing rings and bearings. I am replacing what are called keepers and needles at the connecting rod journals of the crankshaft. Can anyone tell me what to expect with keepers and needles? Are these supposed to be an improvement over needle bearing assemblies? Usually I find semicircular needle bearing assemblies, but, this beauty has these keepers and needles. Hmmm.....
