It its a fiberglass hull, definately use the Marine-Tex. The stuff works great. Here's what i did to apply it:

Mix up epoxy - use correct anounts of expoxy and hardener
Apply to hole/crack with puddy knife and spread evenly
Let it harden for 5 minutes and use some water on your fingers to rub it smooth (like caulk)
Let it cure for 24 hrs and then use light sand paper to finish it off.

It hardens like a rock and is completly sandable and drillable and paintable.

The gray Marine-Tex is not recommended for fiberglass repairs. It dries too brittle. Stick with the white - .

I almost made the same mistake with the grey. The guy that works there told me the same thing. Its not for fiberglass boats. So I got the white. Couldnt be happier. painted it blue after it dried. Cant even tell where I made the repair. Great Stuff.

Besides a marine store you should be able to find marintex at Walmart or any auto parts store. I would not try the gray, it is not for fiberglass use...
